200+ Medical Journals Call For Action on Climate Change

More than 230 leading Medical Journals across the world raised concerns on climate change and demanded action in this regard.

Some of the journals including The Lancet, the New England Journal of Medicine, and the BMJ called for government action on climate change ahead of three important events; the next UN General Assembly meeting in September, the Kunming biodiversity summit in October, and COP26 in Glasgow in November. A document released jointly by the journals also mentioned that the wealthier countries will have to cut emissions faster, making reductions by 2030 beyond those currently proposed and reaching net-zero emissions before 2050.
