In an attempt to combat climate change impacts NASA and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have issued a guide highlighting climate mitigation and adaptation resources.
The guide titled ‘Building Alliances for Climate Action’ provides several perspectives, insights and resources to mitigate the impacts of climate change to help individuals and organizations in making effective policies.
A statement delivered by NASA Administrator, Bill Nelson highlighted that NASA is working closely with FEMA to provide resources to the communities around the world they need to adapt and tackle the impacts of extreme weather conditions occurring due to climate change.
The guide is a part of the virtual series initiated by NASA and FEMA last year to create awareness about rapidly rising climate change across the globe. The series was aimed to provide accurate, timely, and actionable information to foster the policymakers and individuals to take positive climate actions.
On the launch of the new climate action guide and while highlighting the need for the immediate climate action FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell said, “To meet this moment, we need to invest in initiatives to break the cycles of disaster, damage and reconstruction”. Our actions now will directly impact the future, he added.
