In an attempt to spread awareness about climate change among youth, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru has introduced scholarships worth Rs 50 lakh for young students to research various aspects related to climate change.
The scholarship is targeted to take high school and senior secondary students on board. The first level exam of the screening process was already completed in January this year and about 1000 students from different parts of the country participated. The second level exam is planned to be held on April 20 and the top 24 will be selected for a quiz.
The quiz will be held in May/June in Thiruvananthapuram and will be telecasted on Doordarshan. Talentspire, the online educational consultant will conduct the test as per the standards set by IISc. They have also announced prizes worth Rs 50 lakhs to the winners.
