On Sep 9 The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) launched an app for management of electronic waste. The web portal aims at facilitating the collection, mobilization, processing and discarding of e-waste. As a platform for exchange between buyers and vendors for electronic parts and appliances, the Commissioner of NDMC made a statement.

Construction material giant, Ultratech Cement has committed to Climate Group’s RE100 initiative at Climate Week NYC 2021. Through this ultimatum, UltraTech targets to meet 100 per cent of its electricity needs through renewable and non-exhaustive sources by 2050.
The United Nations selected 18 young men and women, for their pioneering work in India by the United Nations for a climate campaign called ‘We The Change’. As part of the ongoing COP26 conference in Glasgow, these young people have been commemorated for their contribution towards the environment.

Pineapple agroforestry, instead of Jhum cultivation can be a sustainable alternative in northeast India, says a study published in the Journal of Environmental Management. Jhum cultivation or swidden agriculture practiced in this region has become unsustainable causing soil infertility, erosion, and low agronomic productivity.
The first ‘smog tower’ has been installed in the capital, New Delhi. The 82 feet high tower will pump 1,000 cubic meters of air per second through it and reduce the amount of harmful particulate matter by half.
